Dear Reader,

I feel like we haven’t really talked in a while. I mean, I know I have been posting consistently on all things style, life and travel but I haven’t sat down at my desk to really lay out what’s been on my mind.

I’m going to break this post down into a few different categories for the essence of streamlining my thoughts.

1. Life Lately

Today was June’s first day of 1st grade, and I got all sorts of emotional about it. I had the kids for six sleeps, and the first day away is always the hardest after a longer stretch together. Add in the first-day-of-school drop-off? Let’s just say I was in emotional full tilt (kidding, sort of). Seeing her big-girl desk with her name tag on it and all the fresh school supplies tucked into the drawer had the waterworks going by 8:30 a.m. Time is flying.

Everyone I talk to lately seems to start the conversation with, “Can you believe summer is over? Where did it go?” I’ve been asking myself the same thing. Between grieving the loss of both of my grandparents, getting the kids started on new routines, and trying to find my own footing in the middle of it all, this season has felt like a blur. What I keep realizing, though, is that transitions are never one note. Some days I feel steady and grounded, and others I feel like I’m floating without a map.
