I went to New York last week to show Shopbop the new Spring ‘24 Wyeth collection and to also celebrate Meg’s birthday.
We stayed at the Nine Orchard in the L.E.S which was very stylish and made me feel much cooler than I am, but it was a little rough around the corners on service. But I would stay there again. If you aren’t familiar with the new “it” spot in the lower east side of NYC, then read this article to get schooled. This was the first trip back to NY post pandemic where I finally felt like the city was “back.”
Night One: Corner Bar in Nine Orchard. I found this dress in an IG ad and it lived up to expectation. Super $ friendly. I tossed on my The Row coat over (got this two years ago) and paired it with my girl, Kirsty’s, Retrouvai earrings that I’ve had for nearly a decade. I also carried my new bag by Bode. I wore my sneakers out because it felt like the right move given we were eating in the hotel.
Day - Night One: I took a very long walk around the bridges and ended up heading to Sant Ambroeus for coffee and switched up my outfit for shopping before a few afternoon meetings. We hit up: Vintage Twin, Bode, November 19, Kallmeyer, Pilgrim NY, Coming Soon and Desert Vintage.
I wore: Alo Yoga Pants, Nike V2 Running Shoes, Anine Bing striped button down and then I changed in to Nili Lotan black corduroys (take two sizes down), Adidas Sambas, and my new Blaze Milano blazer. I carried my cassette bag which is hands down my most carried back and is the best travel bag of all time because it fits everything and can be worn crossbody. I wore the same blazer out to dinner with my Kellmeyer Pants and Toteme slingbacks (the only heels I packed for the trip) along with an old Olympia le Tan book clutch.
We had drinks at Turks and Frogs followed by dinner at Golden Swan where we told Meg Ryan how much we all loved her and she graciously and humbly accepted.
Day - Night Two: A walk across the bridge to Dumbo in the same “workout” outfit as yesterday where I ordered a breakfast bodega sandwich and coffee at Soho House. I changed in to street clothes (see above) for some meetings and light shopping. We had dinner at Polo Bar followed by Bemelmans Bar for jazz wearing a Wyeth silk dress and The Row coat over and same heels with my Bottega Veneta bag.
I fell in love with a friend’s Cartier watch and called it a night.
En Route JFK » LAX: Nili Lotan pants, men’s Polo button down in Small, Solid Marin Sweater (medium), large LL Bean boat tote,
Editors Notes:
The Salomon sneakers that we all ordered
Everything Khaite does, Mango does for less (and then some)
I tried on Courtney’s sweater by The Row and now I really, really want it but LaLigne makes an exceptional look for less
Also dying over these Prada’s
I bought this, returned it, and bought this instead
I also purchased 2 pair of vintage 501’s
Until next time,
JD x
