Summer Style Is Loading
I don’t know about you but most of my day dreams lately are in full summer mode. We’ve been catching 90 degree days in Los Angeles off and on lately, teasing us all with the upcoming new season. Also, our family just booked a villa in the South of France this summer and the day dreams are in full effect. I know I should relish in the spring moment, but I honestly just can’t myself.
My current purchasing suggestions/style for thought:
A knee length black skirt. It’s a very quick piece to buy that will bring your entire wardrobe up to date. Trust me. This is the silhouette of the season and I’ve been wearing my black AYR High Hopes skirt morning, noon and night. I want to get one that hits a bit shorter, just right at the knee. I’ve been eyeing: this one by Reformation and this other one by Leset.
Polka Dots. In case you missed the very loud memo: Polka dots are back baby! Whether you’re aiming for a full maxi dress statement or a little splash of dot in your cover-up, there are a gazillion different ways to inject this pop of print into your summer wardrobe. I’m eyeballing this dress by Reformation.
I’ve had these low heeled sandals (in black) for over a year and they are all I’ve been wearing lately. Don’t get me wrong, I wore them a lot last summer but for some reason they are really checking all of the boxes for me. I legit wear them to every dinner or day where I’m feeling a little fancy. The white ones are marked down (a lot) so I’m super tempted to get a second pair.
Fluffy brooches are everything right now and I scored this more affordable find on Etsy recently. If you want to hop on the bandwagon of overhauling your blazers, tanks and dresses, now is the time before this trend runs its course. I have a feeling it’s going to be a fast one. I’m usually not the type to hop on a bandwagon this quickly but it was a low lift accessory that really added oomph to my current wardrobe.
Anything and everything Suzie Kondi. However I have had her linen shorts sets for so many years and I still go so many wears out of them.
From Swim to Sushi or Sushi to Swim
I don’t know about you but I always love to have a swimsuit on hand when I’m traveling to any place that is warm. There’s something about a quick dip in the ocean before dinner al fresco, with wet hair, that just screams summer to me.

Day Hopping
It doesn’t matter where you spend your time this summer. We all find ourselves having those days where you never know where the wind will take you. When I’m bouncing from a beach club to shophop I want an outfit that is versatile and easy to go with the flow. That’s why no matter what the day calls for, wearing a one piece swimsuit with Bermuda shorts is always a safe bet. I’d toss a sarong in my bag in the event that you end up by a pool, on a beach, or better yet invited on a yacht. You can always wrap it around your shoulders for any last minute moment that feels more sophisticated.

City Stomping
I have had, loved, and worn these shorts for over 3 years in the running now. I wore them to school pick-up yesterday. I honestly cannot recommend them enough. I’m getting another pair because I’ve worn mine into the ground. I wear them with swim, I wear them back home from the gym, I wear them to school drop off and I wear them to to the point they’re falling apart. I love them so, so much.

Dinner & Dancing
I’ve added this layered skirt to my birthday wish list because I can easily see the various ways I would style it in my brain. The only other pencil-ish skirt I have in white is a full lace skirt I got from Doen two years ago and I’ve worn it into the ground. It’s also completely see-through which I don’t hate, but it’s a very specific piece and I need a second skirt option fro summer. I really want to make it a double and purchase this cropped camisole too. I love how Toteme styled it over a t-shirt.
Speaking of cool tops, I really love this one by Posse. It’d be cool with denim or silk on bottom.

Are you taking any trips this summer? What are you currently shopping for? Would love to hear from you in the comments below. Also, if you made it this far and enjoyed this post, would you be so kind as to give the heart button a little tap? A little love goes a very long way for my Substack.
As always, thank you for being here!

This is also a killer dress in cotton voile with a lot of body but sheer. I have it in black and contemplating white. They are handmade and amazing craftsmanship.

Two trips planned one to Portugal and one to Greece. Sort of spending more head time on Greece :) Bought a Rixo maxi polka dot dress for a wedding but can see wearing it with flat sandals or sneakers.
I am curious. What do you do when a bride asks that you, as a guest, wears a certain color or pattern dress? I am flummoxed.
